Meet The Team

Preeti Kodancha
I graduated with a BSc Honours in Psychology from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, in 2020 (yes, I graduated in the middle of the pandemic, and yes, my graduation ceremony was a YouTube video). I am currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Manipal College of Health Professions, MAHE, Manipal. I also work with two mental health organizations based in India, and help with content writing, research and development, and design.
I am very passionate about mental health literacy and advocacy, and have organized and developed campaigns to provide awareness about mental health to children. I strongly believe in the power of advocacy, and do my best to engage in it at every opportunity. Research is something of a passion - and I absolutely love every part of the process, and rejecting null hypotheses is a euphoria like no other. I have research experience in diverse fields within Psychology. The brain-body interface and its workings fascinate me, and going forward, I hope to pursue a career in Clinical Neuropsychology.
Beyond my dealings with the marvel that is Psychology, I am a trained Carnatic vocalist and violinist - I engage with music in its many forms, and it keeps me sailing. I recognize the importance of education as an out to many of the world’s problems, and am actively working to teach children in my free time. I enjoy reading and listening to podcasts, and of late, I’ve been very caught up learning about global politics and policy. Finally, and most importantly, I strongly believe that topping pizzas with pineapples is humankind’s cardinal sin, and also that dogs are the universe’s greatest gift to humankind.

I'm a student of Clinical Psychology and am extremely passionate about normalising mental health and making it more accessible. I'm very enthusiastic about encouraging positive mental health through multiple ways apart from, and including therapy. I'm still exploring the realm of psychotherapy, with my recent interests spanning across Transactional Analysis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Another area I'm extremely passionate about is research. I enjoy researching within fields like Social Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Clinical Psychology, with my most recent work focusing on the Effects of Technology Use on Mental Health. I'm also a Psychology Assistant, through which I specialise in Mental Health Products: A very innovative and effective way of making mental health more accessible while having important conversations about the same. I also actively focus on advocating Mental Health among the Youth: Something I've had the opportunity to talk about on a few platforms/forums, through both public speaking and content development. In my free time, I also volunteer with an organisation that helps encourage well being among senior citizens, by empowering them through awareness and education.
You will mostly see me functioning on a daily basis with earphones on since I think music fixes everything :) I also absolutely love making playlists and mixes for my friends, writing, dancing, and coming up with weird theories that everyone’s tired of hearing :P. When I'm not doing all of this, I'm probably sending pictures of my dog to everyone I know because, like music, I think animals can fix everything too :) I'm always game for conversations about anything, starting from psychology and research, to dogs, music and how the world works!
